There are many reasons why men chose to
join social fraternal organizations in college. We will go through a
few of the main reasons why men chose to pursue fraternity life through
success, fun, personal development, and to find life long friendships.
Alpha Tau Zeta was founded on the four principals of high scholarship,
fine fellowship, sound character, and a commitment to service. These
are the vital principals of real leadership through which the brothers
strive to accomplish the greatest good for the greatest number. Throughout
your journey of researching your options with ATZ you will see many ways
in which our men strive to uphold these 108 year old traditions.
Why should I join ATZ?
You want to be successful in life. We
stress academics and reward those who excel academically. Our academic
expectations for our members are high to help you realize your true academic
potential which is the real reason why you are in college in the first
place. Over the past five years, ATZ has been honored as one of the top
academic performing fraternities in the Interfraternity Council. Click

You want to have fun and enjoy your college
experience. ATZ participates in intramural sports.
Ohio State facilitates the nation's largest organized rec
sports program. The men participate in flag football in the fall,
basketball in the winter, and softball & sand volleyball during
the spring quarter. We also highly encourage members to be involved
in many of the other 800+
student organizations on campus including Ohio Stater's Inc.,
class honoraries, Ag Ed Society, Saddle and Sirloin, co-curricular
judging teams, and club and varsity
athletics. Homecoming
week, Greek Week, and many other social events also provide an
opportunity for the men to spend many memorable moments with one
another.
You want to develop into a more well-rounded
individual. ATZ has leadership positions, financial
responsibilities, and policies & procedures to follow much like
most organizations and companies. There is an executive board of
officers as well as other leadership positions within the chapter.
The chance to lead others is not only available and encouraged, but
it is expected as a part of our fraternity. We offer leadership training
and development at a variety of levels within the Greek Community.
Part of the fraternity is of a social nature, but that does not simply
imply drinking and partying. It allows you to meet other people in
a fun and safe environment and become comfortable meeting and getting
to know people you have met for the first time. Not only is ATZ diverse
in of itself, with members from many different racial, religious,
regional and other backgrounds; we are sensitive to and educate upon
diverse issues. We celebrate our diversity and the diversity that
is here on our campus and community. ATZ holds in high regard our
responsibility to give back to our community. Whether it is in donating
our time, working with others or raising
money for a worthy cause, we dedicate ourselves to helping others.
You want to form lifelong
friendships. Alpha
Tau Zeta gives you the opportunity to make new friends who will be with
you long after graduation. The men you meet today will be the ones who
stand up in our wedding, provide guidance when you are struggling and
share in your happiness for many years. The chapter has many
alumni who will share their experiences and help prepare you for
life after graduation. The common bond of our fraternity will carry beyond
the members you join with and into the many alumni who have this shared
experience. Their knowledge will be beneficial to you as you prepare
for a career. The fraternity has a foundation of values and standards
known as the ritual. Through our rituals you will learn the basic concepts
of friendship and values that will being you closer to your brothers.
This common bond will be with you for life.
These are just a few reasons why many chose to go Greek on campus. Hopefully
you will discover your own unique and special reason why you chose anyone
of the social Greek-letter fraternities on campus. If you have questions
as any time just let us know. We hope to see you on campus and in the
Greek Community very soon! |
