"Hi, my name is Cambell Parrish, and I am from the Farm House Fraternity here at The Ohio State University. Leadership to me doesn't really have a specific definition. I think its more of a list of characteristics that help make an individual become a good leader, like communication, organization, networking. It's not represented well by one specific sentence. The Farm House Fraternity has helped me develop these leadership characteristics in a variety of ways. One of the biggest ways is a networking capabilities. This past summer I had the opportunity to interact with a variety of individuals all over the nation at the Ohio State Fair. Initially as a leader is was fairly tough to get them organized and figure out how their strengths played in different scenarios. Looking back at my first quarter at Farm House, it really did start to play in to how I can use the things I've learned from my brothers and alumni. I took all those instances, whether its sitting down and dealing with an issue like a philanthropy event to raise money for our chapter, and taking all those things and looking back, it made those things a whole lot easier. Because of that, the Greek community and my time here at Ohio State has turned out to be a great experience. I hope it was good for everyone, I know I have really enjoyed in personally. Thanks to Farm House Fraternity and everything I learned there, it was a really successful summer."

  • Mission statement of FarmHouse:
“The object of our fraternity is to promote good fellowship, to encourage studiousness, and to inspire its members in seeking the best in their chosen lines of study as well as in life. Progress shall mark our every step; the spirit of congeniality shall reign at all times; and every member shall be honest with himself as with his brothers. Men elected to our membership are considered to be of good moral character, to be high in scholarship, to have the capacity for meeting and making friends, and to give promise of service to their fellowmen and to the world. To be and become such may at times require a sacrifice of time, pleasures and comforts.”

  • How he lives that mission statement every day: “The first thing is to make sure that I am enjoying my time in the fraternity community because without a doubt there is always somewhere to be involved and have fun. Second, by keeping my fellow brothers in mind it keeps me mindful of my actions and pushes me to always strive for excellence.”

  • Where you’ll see him on campus:
