Dear Students,
The men of Alpha Tau Zeta Fraternity welcome you to The Ohio State
University. It is truly an accomplishment to be taking this next big
step in furthering your education. You will find that college is
a new and different experience that will open many doors for you
in life. Your formal education that you receive here at The
Ohio State University will take you far on your journey toward success,
but to realize your full potential; involvement is key to providing
a well rounded base in which to grow. At a university such as
Ohio State there is something for everyone to involve themselves with.
Whether it is our world-class athletics, student government, service
organizations, Greek life, or a balanced combination thereof, there
is something here at Ohio State waiting for you.
One of the greatest opportunities for involvement
here at Ohio State is through our Greek Community. The Townshend
Chapter of Alpha Tau Zeta is proud to lead the nation as the first
agriculturally based fraternity established 111 years ago with a
rich tradition rooted within the university. Throughout this long
history our chapter has opened its doors to aspiring men from all
over Ohio and the U.S. helping to mold doctors, lawyers, veterinarians
and members of many other professional fields along the way. The
current members of Alpha Tau Zeta build upon this traditional, professional
focus in the classroom where our fraternity’s members study
the fields of Agriculture, Engineering, Criminology, Natural Resources,
History, and many more.
However, the fraternity’s commitment to shaping new leaders
in Agriculture and related fields does not end with high scholarship.
We value campus and community involvement, where we have members
active in clubs such as the Undergraduate Student Government, University
Ambassadors, Agricultural Education Society, and the Crops and Soils
Club. Through our member’s involvement you can see that Ohio
State can be a community as large or small as you would like to make
it.
Congratulations on your accomplishments and your future success
and involvement at The Ohio State University. My fellow fraternity
members and I will be looking forward to meeting you in the upcoming weeks.
Sincerely,
J. Kent Pullins
